Pune traffic police takes action against 619 bikers with modified silencers

The Pune traffic police took action against people modifying bike silencers and also bikers using modified silencers. The police officials have been getting several complaints about such bikers flouting the norms under the Motor Vehicle Act. These vehicles have been found driving with such modified silencers and leading to noise pollution. Pune traffic police under its 27 traffic police divisions between March 29 and 31, 2024 under the guidance of Amitesh Kumar, commissioner of Police, Pune city, Pravin Pawar, assistant police commissioner, Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil (east zone, Pune city), Rohidas Pawar, deputy commissioner of Police, Pune traffic police.

The police took action 619 bikers for using such bikes with modified silencers and also against those modifying the silencers. The police removed these silencers and imposed a fine on such bikers and garage owners.
