Pune Traffic Police To Remove Abandoned Vehicles, Urge Citizens To Report via PTP App
Pune, April 1, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police has launched a drive against abandoned vehicles occupying public spaces, clearing several such vehicles to ease road congestion and improve overall sanitation.
Officials said many vehicles had been left unattended for extended periods, turning into collection points for garbage and sources of foul odour. These neglected vehicles not only obstruct traffic movement but also create hygiene and environmental concerns for local residents.
During a recent drive, traffic police teams identified and removed multiple abandoned vehicles from key roads, helping restore smoother traffic flow and cleaner surroundings. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to keep city roads obstruction-free and better managed.
The department has appealed to citizens to actively support the initiative by reporting abandoned vehicles in their areas. Timely information from the public will help authorities take swift action and prevent such vehicles from becoming long-term nuisances.
To facilitate complaints, citizens have been encouraged to use the PTP mobile application, where they can upload details and locations of abandoned vehicles. Officials emphasized that public participation is crucial in maintaining safer, cleaner, and more accessible roads across the city.
