A monsoon outing turned tragic when Swapnil Dhawde, a youth from Pimpri Chinchwad, was swept away in the powerful currents of a waterfall in Tamhini Ghat.

Dhawde, who had gone with a group of 32 others from his gym, disappeared after jumping into the water. The group had traveled to Plus Valley in Mulshi Taluka for a weekend outing on Saturday. A viral video captures the moment Dhawde leapt from a height into the waterfall, only to be quickly overtaken by the strong currents.
Search operations were immediately launched, but authorities were unable to locate Dhawde on Saturday or Sunday.
