Pune : Two arrested for their friend’s murder in Wagholi over petty issue

Pune, Aug 27 : The city police on Sunday arrested two youths within 48 hours of alleged murder of their friend on a petty issue here. Accused Ram Subhash Shriram (22) and Gopal Kotpapura (26) were arrested today from Wagholi area in connection with murder of Shailendra Mandigarikar, police said.

The incident occurred at Labour camp situated in front of Citron Society on Wagholi Road on Saturday, when Shriram, Mandigarikar and another person were sitting and consuming alcohol. A quarrel broke out between them, and the duo decided to murder Mandigarikar. Both committed the murder and ran away from the spot.

Upon receiving information that Shriram has come to his relative’s house at Tuljapur, a squad of Lonikand police station went there and arrested him from there, following which Kotpapura was also arrested, sources added.
