Pune: Sanjay Jagtap, MLA from Purandar Constituency has informed that the first phase of the Joint Water Supply Scheme for Phursungi and Uruli Devachi areas has been completed.

As per information, the drinking water scheme at Phursungi and Uruli Devachi in Haveli taluka, which has been pending for many years, is nearing completion. For this,Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament of Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency provided support.

In the year 2013, the plan for joint water supply of Phursungi and Uruli Devachi at a cost of Rs 75 crore 65 lakh was approved.  In the year 2016, the plan got administrative approval, but due to the inefficiency of the then MLAs and contractors, the funds were exhausted with only partial construction of the infrastructure in the populated areas. But they forgot to connect the line to the main water source so the pipeline was laid before the well was dug. Additionally,  there was no permission from the Defence Department to connect the water main line from its premises to this place.

In 2019, Jagtap, along with Supriya Sule, followed up with the Centre during the Covid period and got permission to build the pipeline from the Defence Department premises. Also, in the meantime, the pipeline reached the citizens of Phursungi and Uruli Devachi by crossing the railway line at two places.

Sanjay Jagtap, expressing his happiness said that, after 10 years, the first phase of Phursungi and Uruli Devachi has started & soon, the next phase of the project will be completed and the people will get a smooth water supply.
