Taloja Road Accident: One Dead, Woman Critically Injured As Speeding Car Hits Pedestrians
Pune – A high-speed Bolero car and bike accident at Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa left two bikers injured late last night. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when a speeding Skoda vehicle hit the bikers, causing minor injuries to both.
According to eyewitnesses, the car’s tires burst during the accident. They also alleged that the driver, identified as Santosh Gupta, was under the influence of alcohol at the time. The onlookers detained Gupta on the spot and handed him over to the Kondhwa police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Gupta, a mechanic, was driving recklessly, which led to the collision. The injured bikers sustained hand injuries and received immediate medical attention.
The police were alerted by witnesses and promptly arrived at the scene. Gupta was taken for a medical examination. Further legal proceedings are underway.
Local residents have called for stricter enforcement of traffic rules in the area to prevent such incidents in the future.
