Pune: Two Women Molested in Di Mora Pub’s Parking Lot; Complaint Filed
Pune: Concerns about women’s safety in the city continue to rise, with yet another disturbing incident reported. While the shock of the recent rape case at Swargate ST bus depot is still fresh, two young women were allegedly molested in the parking lot of Di Mora pub.
A case has been registered at the Bund Garden police station against the accused—Shridhar Kale, Omkar Dalvi, and Prateek.
According to the complaint, on March 9, the victims had gone to Di Mora pub for dinner when Kale and his friends were also present. Inside the pub, Kale allegedly pushed the complainant without reason. When questioned, he responded with verbal abuse and obscene gestures.
Later, in the parking lot, the accused allegedly stopped the women, twisted the complainant’s arm, and attempted to force her into his car. He also molested her by touching her inappropriately.
Following the incident, the women approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Incidents of harassment at pubs in Pune are reportedly increasing. The focus now shifts to whether authorities will take action against the pub management. There are growing demands to mandate CCTV cameras and security measures at such establishments to enhance safety.
