Pune: Two Workers Injured After Slab Collapses During Hotel Renovation on Dhole Patil Road
Pune, November 19, 2025: A major accident was reported on Dhole Patil Road when a concrete slab collapsed during the renovation work of a hotel. The incident caused panic in the area as two labourers were trapped under the debris.
According to officials, renovation work was underway when the slab suddenly gave way. Nearby workers immediately alerted the fire department after hearing loud noises and noticing the trapped individuals.
The Pune Fire Brigade swiftly responded to the emergency. Three fire vehicles were rushed to the spot, and firefighters began rescue operations without delay. Their timely intervention proved crucial in reaching the injured workers.
After carefully removing the debris, the fire personnel were able to pull out both individuals, who were found in a seriously injured condition. The team ensured they were stabilised before being shifted to a hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the injured workers were transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Their condition is currently being monitored by doctors.
The incident has raised concerns regarding safety measures at renovation and construction sites in the city. Officials are expected to inspect the location and verify whether all safety protocols were followed during the refurbishment work.
