Pune, June 10, 2026: The Viman Nagar Police have cracked down on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes and hookah-related products, seizing prohibited items worth ₹1.57 lakh during a raid conducted at a shop in Viman Nagar.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid at a shop identified as “Smoke Heaven Shop” located in the Neco Garden area of Viman Nagar. During the operation, officers found a stock of banned e-cigarettes, hookah flavours and related materials allegedly being sold in violation of existing regulations.

Police detained a 22-year-old man, identified as Mohammed Faiz Farooq Shaikh, a resident of Balewadi, who was present at the shop during the raid. Authorities also initiated action against the shop owner in connection with the case.

During the search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered prohibited products and related materials collectively valued at approximately ₹1.57 lakh. The seized items were taken into custody as evidence.

A case has been registered at Viman Nagar Police Station under Crime Register No. 293/2026. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the prohibited products and whether a larger distribution network is involved.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior officers of Pune City Police. The raid team included officers from the Viman Nagar Police Station investigation unit, who acted swiftly on the information received regarding the alleged illegal sale of e-cigarettes and hookah products.

Police officials stated that strict action will continue against individuals and establishments involved in the sale of banned tobacco-related products and e-cigarettes, which are prohibited under existing laws.
