Pimpri Chinchwad: In a tragic incident on Diwali eve, a 35-year-old man named Soham Patel lost his life after being hit by a speeding car while bursting firecrackers on the roadside in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune district. The accident occurred on October 30 and was captured on CCTV. Patel was celebrating Diwali with his family when the speeding car struck him and immediately fled the scene.

Despite 48 hours having passed since the incident, the driver remains unidentified and has yet to be apprehended. The Ravet police have registered a case against the unknown driver and are actively investigating the accident, reviewing CCTV footage and seeking any additional information that could help identify the suspect.
In a separate incident in Pune’s Sinhgad area, five children sustained injuries when a drain chamber cover exploded due to firecrackers being burst on top of it. Local authorities were alerted, and the children were given immediate medical attention.
