Pune: Visitors Pay Tribute As Fergusson College Opens Savarkar’s Historic Room
PUNE: To mark the death anniversary of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the historic Room No. 17 at Fergusson College hostel, where he once resided, was opened for public viewing on Monday.
A floral tribute was offered to Savarkar’s portrait by Pramod Rawat, President of the DES Regulatory Board and Council. Vice President Adv. Ashok Palande, Executive Officer Dr. Anand Katikar, and Dr. Vijay Tidke were also present at the event.

Savarkar, a student of Fergusson College between 1902 and 1905, stayed in Hostel No. 1, Room No. 17. The room houses his bust along with two replicas of his honorary D.Litt. degree certificates. The event saw a large turnout of visitors who gathered to pay their respects.
