Pune: Wakad Housing Societies and PCMC Discuss Key Upgrades for Datta Mandir Road
Pune: Wakad- Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Development & Welfare Association held a meeting of Housing Societies located on the said road with PCMC. This was the 16th meeting held with PCMC with various agendas since March 2022 when this road was sanctioned.
8th March 2025- Group of Wakad Housing Society Residents had submitted a letter to MLA- Chinchwad Constituency Shankar Jagtap quoting various demands like Indigenous Tree plantation in Green Belt space, Addition of Driving/ Parking lanes and spaces. Based on this request, MLA had accepted the demand and declared it during his felicitation meeting held on 8th March’25. He then specifically gave suggestions to PCMC in accordance with this demand.
To coordinate on this demand and its implementation a meeting was called by Sachin Londhe (Founder of Wakad- Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Development & Welfare Association) with PCMC City Engineer based on the specific instructions. This meeting was held with Wakad datt mandir road Housing society representatives and the office of PCMC City Engineer, Asst. City Engineer and his Team.
Meeting was led by Asst. City Engineer Bapusaheb Gaikwad and his Team with the agenda
Addition of Driving lane/ Parking bay
Tree plantation and current progress of ongoing work.
The Detailed presentation on the approved plan and its designs were made to the meeting participants by the PCMC/ consultants Team. During this meeting various ideas/ suggestions were made and discussed by the PCMC Team as well as Housing Society residents like
1. Indigenous Tree plantations,
2. changes/ addition of Plaza spaces,
3. installation/ changes in Pergolas,
4. Cycle track modifications,
5. changes to Footpath,
6. Two wheeler parking space and its dedicated approach lane,
7. installation of rainwater paving blocks/ permeable Pavers,
8. Cycle Stands,
9. Paid Parking Bays,
10. Utility line ducts,
11. Seating spaces at various locations,
12. Odd/ even parkings,
13. Parking disciplines,
14. Pole lights and it’s illumination
PCMC Team were professional and kind enough to present the Proposed/ Draft changes, Accepting the suggestions made, Discussing the issues in implementations and encouraging Citizens participation. This meeting was held after the guidance of MLA- Chinchwad and City Engineer, PCMC with Citizens in Housing societies in Wakad. It was decided to have a followup meeting for monitoring the agenda progress and overall development of this mentioned road.
The agenda and outcome of it was very successful. Citizens in Wakad had thanked PCMC Team, MLA Shankar Jagtap for accepting the demand made.
This meeting was participated by PCMC Team, Citizens in Wakad- Sachin Londhe, Tejaswini Sawai, Rohit Sawant, Pradeep B., Satish T., Santosh K. and various other citizens in Wakad.
