Pune: Wanowrie Traffic Cops Act Swiftly To Save Woman After Medical Emergency At Golibar Maidan Chowk
Pune, January 14, 2026: Traffic police personnel from the Wanowrie Traffic Division were commended for their prompt and courageous response that helped save a woman’s life following a medical emergency at Golibar Maidan Chowk.
The incident occurred on January 9, 2026, at around 1 pm, when a 33-year-old woman, identified as Nayana Jadhav, collapsed along with her two-wheeler at the busy Golibar Maidan Chowk while travelling from Swargate towards Khadki Maruti Chowk. After falling, the woman lost consciousness, creating an urgent medical situation.
At the time, Police Constable Minakshi Ananda Rathod, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Priyanka Ajit Galinde and Police Constable Prakash Ashok Mane were on duty at the junction. Realising the seriousness of the situation, the officers did not wait for an ambulance to arrive.
Instead, they immediately stopped a passing auto-rickshaw and swiftly removed traffic barricades placed to regulate vehicular movement. To ensure quick medical assistance, the officers cleared the route and allowed the rickshaw to proceed against traffic where necessary, enabling the woman to be rushed without delay to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hospital.
Due to the officers’ presence of mind and quick decision-making, the woman received timely medical treatment. Doctors at the hospital confirmed that their prompt action played a crucial role in saving her life.
The Wanowrie Traffic Police’s decisive response has been widely appreciated, highlighting the importance of alertness and humane action by on-duty personnel in emergency situations.
