Weather Update : 10 degrees temp to remain in majority of Maharashtra; Fog could form in ‘these’ areas

Pune: Pune is feeling the shivers of winter, with Pashan experiencing one of the coldest mornings of the year with a low of 10 degrees Celsius & Shivaji Nagar also experienced a dip in temperature to 12 degrees Celsius due to the chills.
As per information from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune “Today, we are expecting a further fall of around 1°C. The North Eastern wind has been penetrating Pune since 24 hours. However, from December 22 (Friday), it is likely that the wind pattern will change again, blocking northerly components, resulting in a gradual rise in minimum temperature from evening time for a couple of days.”
According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Pune forecast, this cold spell will continue for the next twenty-four hours, after which minimum temperatures will slightly rise.
This dramatic drop in temperature has been attributed to the arrival of cool winds from northern and north-eastern India, as well as a light cloud cover has been attributed. Pune has mostly had clear skies with a hint of early morning haze, but some areas experienced cloudy afternoon conditions.
The IMD had earlier predicted that minimum temperatures would drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the coming days.
Pune’s temperatures have not dropped below 10 degrees Celsius this season, despite the chill in the air.
