As a result of the high levels of moisture intrusion from the Bay of Bengal, it is anticipated that there will be light to isolated moderate-level rainfall in many parts of Maharashtra, including Pune, on November 25-26.

Consequently, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for these regions for the next 48 hours.

According to Anupam Kashyapi, the head of the weather and forecasting division at IMD Pune, a cyclonic circulation has developed in the Arabian Sea near the Maharashtra coast. Additionally, a trough line extends from this cyclonic circulation to north Maharashtra. Consequently, Maharashtra is experiencing southeast and easterly winds, leading to a significant accumulation of moisture in the atmosphere. This increase in moisture is causing a rise in night temperatures across the state. As a result, Maharashtra is expected to observe isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning activities from November 24 to 28. Kashyapi also mentioned that Pune is likely to witness rainfall on November 25 and 26.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate-category rainfall in different locations across the state. Consequently, Pune city has been notified of this alert for the upcoming 48 hours. Moreover, all districts in Konkan and Central Maharashtra have also received a yellow alert for rainfall on November 25 and 26, while certain districts in Marathwada have been alerted for rainfall as well.

Furthermore, within the next 24 hours, it is anticipated that rainfall will occur in two specific districts, namely Gadchiroli and Chandrapur. However, starting from the 27th, there will be a notable decrease in rainfall conditions. The possibility of light to moderate rainfall has been restricted to only 9 districts located in the north-central region of the state. In the meantime, the city encountered cloudy weather throughout the day as moisture began to accumulate in the atmosphere.

According to the data provided by IMD, the night temperature in Shivajinagar was 14.3 degrees Celsius on November 22. Over the past 2-3 days, there has been a rise of 3 degrees Celsius in the temperature, and on November 24, the temperature in the same area was recorded as 17.3 degrees Celsius. This indicates an increase in nighttime temperature in the city.
