Pune: Sindhudurg District administration has decided to impose restrictions on water sports activities and tourist visit to the historic Sindhudurg Fort between November 28, 2023, and December 5, 2023. The decision comes in light of the anticipated visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the region during this period to celebrate Indian Navy Day.

Sindhudurg Fort, located in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Malvan in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, is a popular tourist destination known for its historical significance and architectural marvel. The fort, built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, attracts a considerable number of visitors throughout the year.

To ensure the security and smooth conduct of Prime Minister Modi’s visit, authorities have decided to temporarily restrict water-related activities and tourist transportation to the fort. This includes the suspension of boat rides, water sports, and other recreational activities in the vicinity.

The decision has been communicated to local tour operators, boat owners, and relevant stakeholders involved in providing services to tourists visiting Sindhudurg Fort. The temporary ban on water activities and tourist transport aims to prevent any potential security concerns and to facilitate the hassle-free execution of the Prime Minister’s visit.
