Pune, May 20, 2026: After days of intense heat and uncomfortable humidity, Pune residents may finally get relief as temperatures in the city are expected to drop significantly over the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast pre-monsoon showers accompanied by thunder and lightning from May 22 onwards.

On Tuesday, Pune recorded a sudden drop of nearly 3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature, bringing it down to around 37 degrees Celsius. Although the city witnessed strong sunshine during the afternoon, weather conditions changed rapidly by evening, with cloudy skies providing some respite from the heat during the night.
