Rahul Kalate submits letter to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to build a subway at Bhumkar chowk, Tathawade, Punawale
Wakad has witnessed a massive growth in the area due to its link to Hinjewadi and Pune Mumbai National Highway.
Rahul Kalate, corporator from Wakad, has submitted a letter to Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, citing the need to build a subway at certain spots adjoining Mumbai – Bangalore Highway.
The letter explained the importance of building subways at Tahatawade, Punawale, Bhumkar Chowk and Wakad.
Rahul Kalate has also brought the need of revamping the Wakad – Kiwale service road to the attention of Nitin Gadkari.
While talking about his letter to the Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, Rahul Kalate said, “Pimpri Chinchwad holds high importance in terms of its link to Hinjewadi IT Park and Pune Bangalore Highway. Due to this factor, the area is witnessing some massive development in the recent times. The area is adjoining to the route to Hyderabad, Nashi, Bangalore and Ahmednagar. Understanding the flow of vehicle from the said cities and states, the transport facility should be given high importance and necessary changes should be made.”
The current subways at the mentioned areas are not appropriate enough to flow the traffic and hence there is increasing need to build a four lane subway. The height and width of the present subway should be elevated.
