In a concerning incident that unfolded today, on October 6, 2023, around 16:00 hours, the Chinchwad-Akurdi railway section, specifically on the UP Line at Km 172/6-7, witnessed an act of sabotage that has raised alarm among railway authorities.

This unsettling event came to light during routine track maintenance and weld testing work carried out by railway personnel from the Civil Engineering department in the area.

To their disbelief, they stumbled upon a deliberate placement of substantial boulders obstructing the UP Line track. The prompt response and swift action by the vigilant staff prevented what could have been a major and potentially catastrophic incident.

In the wake of this act of vandalism, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
