Pune: Palash Co-operative Housing Society in Wakad has opposed the water pipeline which is laid in the middle of the road.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Kiran Vadgama, Chairman, Palash Co-operative Housing Society, Wakad said, “There is a water connection pipeline laid right in the middle of the road. There is a well in the middle of the road. Why should there be a water connection near the well? Nobody lives in that area. There is only an illegal garage. How can a water line be given to only the garage? We do not know if the water line is legal or not. It might have been taken using some fabricated or misleading documents. Why should there be a water line if not a single person lives there? It must be closed immediately as it might become a permanent water line.”

Dattatray Deshmukh, Chairman, Pimpri Chinchwad Co-operative Housing Society Federation said, “I think that the water from the water pipeline laid there goes into a well situated there through which water tankers get the water from. There is a very small house with only 1 person living in it. However, on what basis has the PCMC allotted the pipeline & how many inches of water pipeline connection is given to the alleged person needs to be checked thoroughly.”

Pune Pulse tried to contact the relevant PCMC Water Department officials but couldn’t connect.
