Rain Expected in Pune by Afternoon, IMD Forecasts Light Showers Around 3 PM
Pune, October 24: Punekars may need to keep their umbrellas handy today as light rain and cloudy skies are expected by afternoon. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Google Weather alerts, parts of the city are likely to experience showers around 3 PM, with increased chances of rainfall continuing into the evening.
The morning began on a warm and humid note, with temperatures hovering around 31°C. However, the weather is expected to change as moisture-laden clouds move over the city. IMD officials have indicated the possibility of isolated rain and thunder activity in Pune and neighbouring regions later today.
Residents are advised to plan their travel accordingly, as intermittent showers could affect evening traffic in areas like Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Baner, and Hinjewadi. Light winds and overcast skies are expected to bring slight relief from the afternoon heat.
The city has seen unpredictable rainfall patterns this week, and today’s showers are part of the ongoing post-monsoon activity in Maharashtra. Weather experts say such short spells are common during the transition from monsoon to winter.
