Rare Snakes, Turtles, and Endangered Orangutan Rescued in Dombivali Upscale Society Raid
In a shocking incident in an upscale apartment in Dombivali, it was found exotic animals were being held captive by the forest department. The trafficking involved foreign snakes, lizards, turtles, and an endangered Orangutan from this society located on Khoni Road. Upon receiving this information, a team from the Mumbai-Thane forest department conducted a raid and successfully rescued the animals. During this operation, animals valued in crores of rupees were saved.
The forest department notes that the worth of these animals can range from lakhs to crores of rupees.
In relation to the animal trafficking case, the police have lodged a complaint against Faizan Khan. Currently, Faizan Khan is on the run, and the police are actively searching for him.
The officials from the Mumbai and Thane forest departments were alerted about the situation and, with assistance from local police, discovered a snake on the property, leading them to raid the apartment. When the team opened the room situated on the eighth floor of the Savarna building, they found that the accused kept the entire house air conditioned and had even installed an ac in the bathroom, where he kept a monkey, different species of snakes, lizards and colourful turtles.
The police and forest department representatives were taken aback by the number of animals found inside the home. They encountered large snakes in various colors, including gold, brown, and green, kept in large containers. Additionally, there were seven to eight different types of tortoises, a python, and an orangutan present.
