Pune: On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 6 p.m., a Ravan Dahan program was organized in Pimple Saudagar to celebrate Vijayadashami. The event was held under the guidance of Corporator Shatrughan Kate Youth Foundation and Shri Jaynath Kate. This year’s Vijayadashami event proved to be a major attraction not only for Pimple Saudagar but for the entire city.
An interesting highlight of the event was the burning of a 120-foot tall statue of Ravana, accompanied by chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Sunil Anil Tilakdhari, hailing from Hisar (Haryana), captivated the audience by portraying the character of Hanuman. The event also featured renowned actresses Hrita Durgule from the TV show “Time Pass-3” and Akshaya Deodhar from “Tujhe Jeev Rangla”, as well as publicity director and actor Pravin Tarde, who interacted with the audience in their unique style.
During the program, the children from Mohanji Centre Pune in Pimple Saudagar won the hearts of the audience with their 20-minute Ramayana drama. Additionally, the members of Kunal More’s Dance Floor Studio joined in the celebration and energized the crowd. A member of Sunil Anil Tilakdhari’s group performed a tandav dance dressed as Mahadev. The ten heads of Ravana are believed to symbolize ten negative tendencies.
Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, MLA Ashwinitai Jagtap, RSS state executive member Prakashrao Mithabhakare, Kunal Sathe of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, former MLA Vilas Lande, Prabhakar Waghere, Chandrakant Nakhate, Moreshwar Shedge, Harshal Dhore, Tushar Kamthe, Mr. Santosh Barne, Mr. Prashant Shitole, Youth Leader Vishwajit Barne, Sandeep Jadhav, Savita Khule, Aarti Chondhe, Nirmala Kute, Social Activist Kunda Bhise, and other esteemed individuals from the cultural, educational, and spiritual sectors, as well as the residents of Pimple Saudagar and the city at large, were present.
The Shatrughan Kate Youth Foundation expresses gratitude to the dignitaries, citizens, police administration, traffic department administration, fire brigade, and municipal officials for their contribution to the successful execution of the biggest Ravan dahan event in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune City. The event was made possible by the hard work of all members of the foundation and was hosted by Chetan Agarwal, Neetu Agarwal, and RJ Akshay.
