‘Recruited’ IT employees left in the lurch, FITE Pune files complaint
Pune: Forum for IT Employes’s (FITE) on Monday filed a complaint against prominent Information Technology (IT) companies over delayed joining of over 250 freshers IT professionals.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Pavanjeet Mane of FITE said,“On Monday, we have registered a complaint against prominent IT companies who have delayed joining of over 250 freshers.’’
Mane further said,” As per our survey there were at least 250 freshers who have been waiting to join a company for the last six months to twelve months. Soon a new batch will pass out and come. What will be the future of these candidates? Hence we have approached the labour commissioner to intervene in this matter,” he said.
Mahesh Lalwani who was selected in a multinational software firm eight months ago, but as of now he is waiting for his joining date said, “Every time the company used to say that they will contact us for the joining formalities but we have been waiting for the eight months. As a result of which I am not able to apply for job opportunities in other IT companies.”
Abhay Gite, Deputy Commissioner of Labour, Pune, “Technically this does not come under jurisdiction. Once an employee joins any firm then only we can intervene in his matters like delayed salary,PF, maternity leaves and many others. These people have not joined any firm hence we can not do anything for them.’’
