Registration mandatory for adventure tourism activities in Maharashtra

Pune: An Adventure Tourism Activities Policy has been implemented to create a well-planned system for safe adventure tourism in the state, and it is mandatory for individuals, organisations, service providers, campuses, resorts, and so on who are conducting adventure tourism activities to register with the Directorate of Tourism.

Some adventure tourist centre operators in the district have been observed performing activities such as ziplining, trekking, and water sports without registration.  As per the government decision dated 24th August 2021 of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, the ‘Adventure Tourism Activities Policy’ has been implemented in the state. As a result, organisations engaged in adventure tourism should register as soon as possible.

Supriya Karmarkar-Datar, Assistant Director of the Divisional Tourism Office, has informed that strict action will be taken against those not following the guidelines.

Organizers of adventure activities should register on the website of Directorates of Tourism https://www.maharashtratourism.gov.in/ by filling in ₹500 chalan on the link https://gras.mahakosh.gov.in/echallan.
