Pune: The Pune Traffic department has announced traffic diversions due to the Pune bandh called by various political parties and organisations. During the bandh, a ‘Muk Morcha’ has been organized starting from the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj statue from Tilak Chowk to Lal Mahal. The march may cause traffic congestion so the changes have been made in the traffic flow, informed Vijayakumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pune City.

The traffic diversion which started at 9am will be effective till the march ends. Diversions are in place in Deccan, Vishram Bagh, Faraskhana and Samarth under Transport Division Pune.

The roads that are closed are Lakshmi Road from Sonya Maruti Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk, Shivaji Road from S. Go. Barve Chowk to Belbagh Chowk, Bajirao Road from Puram Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk, Ganesh Road from Phadke Haud Chowk to Jijamata Chowk and Kelkar Road from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. During the march, citizens should avoid parking from Belbagh Chowk to Tilak Chowk Kabu and should use Tilak Road, Kelkar Road and Kumthekar Road as alternate routes, informed the police. 

The PMPML buses from Narpatgiri Chowk on Nehru Road to 15th August Chowk, Power House Chowk to KEM Hospital and Santakabir Chowk to Lakshmi Road have been diverted via Seven Loves Chowk and Maldhakka Chowk as necessary.
