In the academic year 2023-24, concerning statistics have surfaced regarding class 11 admissions across five major cities in Maharashtra.
According to a detailed report by Vaishali Bafna from the System Improvement Movement (SISCOM), only 70 percent of available seats were filled through the admission process.

Shockingly, less than 10 percent of departments and media achieved full access, while 30 to 35 percent of segments saw zero to less than 20 percent penetration.

The report, submitted to Education Commissioner Suraj Mandhare, highlights the concerning trend of increasing vacant seats each year.
Even with various admission quotas like management and minority, more than half of the seats remained unfilled. In Amravati city, 35 percent of the 16,190 seats remained vacant, while in Mumbai, it was 31 percent of the 3,89,675 seats. Similarly, in Nagpur, 41 percent of 56,650 seats were unoccupied, and in Nashik and Pune, 34 percent of 360 seats and 33 percent of 1,17,990 seats were vacant, respectively.

Furthermore, the report sheds light on the inefficiency of in-house and minority quotas, with only 5 to 20 percent of junior colleges successfully securing admissions through these avenues.
