Residents bring PMC and traffic officials together to resolve Kad nagar issues

Residents of Mohamadwadi and Undri recently came together to resolve various issues pertaining to Kad Nagar chowk.
Kad nagar chowk forms an integral road for citizens staying in Mohamadwadi and Undri. Despite knowing the importance of this chowk, there are various encroachments, illegal hoardings, flex defacing the area, uneven incomplete roads, filthy spots making it look unhealthy adding up on the road making it difficult for citizens to drive and walk.

To resolve these issues the residents had brought officials from Kondhwa Yeolewadi ward office and Hadapsar ward office, Traffic police officials from Handewadi and Kondhwa area to apprise them of the problems faced by the citizens.

Prasad Katkar, assistant commissioner, Hadapsar ward office, Jyoti Dhotre, assistant commissioner, Kondhwa Yeolewadi ward office, ex corporator Pramod Bhangire, Sambhaji Shivaji Golande, Assistant Police Inspector and PSI Jagdale Handewadi who surveyed the area and assured to take immediate steps and resolve the issues.

Sonu Vashi, a resident of Marvel Isola said, “The officials were briefed about the bottlenecks at Kad Nagar and the reason for these traffic jams too. The residents have been assured by the officials that work shall start soon on decongesting the road. The auto stand needs to be relocated, also constructing a traffic island will streamline the traffic, which was also proposed. We also apprised the officials about the encroachment made by the shopkeepers in their front and side margins.”

The residents have demanded action on tempo and auto stand, razing down the illegal structures, remove squatters from the road as well as maintain cleanliness on the road. The residents thanked the traffic officials Sambhaji Shivaji Golande, Assistant Police Inspector and PSI Jagdale Handevadi traffic department.

Sonu Vashi also thanked the Chairman of Marvel Isola Dr Navin Kothari and Amit Choudhary Secretary who helped out to put the issues to the concerned authorities.
who promptly responded to the complaints raised by the residents and offered solutions to the traffic problems.

Jyoti Dhotre, assistant commissioner, Kondhwa Yeolewadi ward office said that the concerned department has been asked to take action.
Chaula Vora a resident said that PMC needs to certainly draw a plan to decongest the road. Also motorists need to drive with discipline on the road to avoid traffic jams.
