Residents of Parge Nagar in Kondhwa are demanding to open the amenity space situated next to Kumar Sublime society.
A plot measuring 19,000 square feet is lying unattended next to the society where light poles have also been installed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The residents stated that till PMC puts any reservation or sets up any amenity let this plot be used by the residents to play or walk.

When Pune Pulse spoke to local Corporator Nanda Lonkar Prabhag 26 said, “The plot was reserved for a crematorium but it was changed into a garden amenity since the residents demanded the same. Light poles have been installed because the amenity space is in a dense residential locality and to avoid any untoward incident the poles have been installed. I shall check why the lights are not functioning. I am consistently following up the matter with the concerned authorities.”

Shabbir Sayyed from Kumar Sublime said, “The plot next to Kumar Sublime is an amenity space handed over by a builders. The PMC can build any amenity they want to but till then keep it open for common public to play or for exercise. They have already installed light poles in the premises.”

Samir Pathan, Sajag Nagrik Manch from Kondhwa who raised the voice against the issue stated that PMC should take the onus of such properties and make them open for public.

The residents complained that the 15 light poles installed in the plot are lying unattended and non-functional. PMC should take action and start the functioning of the lights.

A meeting on the amenity spaces shall be held shortly, said Ashok Ghorpade, superintendent, garden department, PMC.

Judith Menezes, a resident of DSK Garden Enclave complained that the area does not have a public garden for the residents. Till we actually get the garden atleast the plot should be leveled and lights be switched on.”
