Residents in Bavdhan, Pune demand reduction in property tax

Bavdhan: Residents of Bavdhan Budruk and Khurd from various new societies submitted their proposal document addressing Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar. The residents had started a signature campaign to show unity, and fight for the exorbitant property tax levied by PMC on the newly-added villages. 

To get the issue solved, Bavdhan residents had gone to BJP activist Kiran Dagade requesting him to show his support. In the proposal document written to the PMC Commissioner, the name of Kiran Dagade has also been added, in support of residents. Over 2000 residents had given their signature online while 150 people gave it offline. 

As a next step, the residents have decided to not pay the property tax until  concrete reduction takes place in PMC Property Tax for Bavdhan Budruk and Khurd.The residents are looking forward to arranging a meeting with senior property tax officials to get all the queries related to property tax calculation resolved, as well as get a reduction in property tax. 

Nachiket Deshpande of BCF said, “Our demand is a permanent reduction in Property Tax Ready Reckoner Rates, till the point all basic facilities are not provided by PMC to all societies in Bavdhan Budruk and Khurd.”
