Loudspeakers can be used for five days, says Pune collector

Pune district collector Rajesh Deshmukh has allowed the Ganesh Mandals in public places to use loudspeakers between 6 am and 12 midnight. This directive comes after a formal meeting was held between the Pune city police and ganpati mandal volunteers.last month.

“After two years of Covid restrictions, Ganeshotsav festival is going to be organised. This festival which commences on August 31, will go on for 10 days. We need to take care of the noise pollution too. So we will allow loud speakers for five days.” Said Rajesh Deshmukh.

During his visit to Pune, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had given instructions to allow the use of loudspeakers for five days instead of four days. Accordingly, this decision was taken in a meeting with the Police Commissioner, Superintendent of Police along with Pollution Control Board officials.

The loudspeakers are allowed to be used for Ganeshotsav in the district on September 3 and 4, as well as September 6, 7 and 9, 2022 following the rules for Ganeshotsav in the district.
