Robotic surgeries will now be conducted in Pune’s Sassoon hospital

The Sassoon hospital in Pune now plans to conduct robotic surgeries at a reasonable rate. The new ‘Superintendent of the Sassoon Hospital’ Dr. Sanjeev Thakur and dean of B J Medical College will oversee the surgeries, which will include laser, bariatric, and robotic procedures. These surgeries will be available at free or discounted rates for patients.

The hospital plans to use robotics to perform hernia surgeries, bariatric surgeries to reduce obesity, and cancer surgeries.  

The use of robotics in surgeries is expected to increase precision and accuracy while reducing recovery time for patients.”

Dr. Sanjeev Thakur said, ” Sassoon provides high quality treatment for patients with well and modern equipment. Robotic surgery machines will soon be installed in hospitals and doctors for doing surgery will also be hired soon. This will be very helpful for poor people because this will be available at a low price.”
