Want to use Pune university campus for your fitness regime ? First, register!
People from Aundh, Range hills, Sangvi, Model Colony and Pashan Road come in large numbers to the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) for walking or to exercise among the green ambiences.

Now, it has been made mandatory for people to register themselves before using the university campus. The move is aimed at maintaining the safety of people inside the university premises.
The registration is free of charge.
“The registration forms are available behind the main administration building premises. As on Monday afternoon, 425 forms were available, and from them 150 have been already filled. More forms will be made available, if need be,” Suresh Nagargoje, Desk-In-Charge of Registration, SPPU.
“In order to protect the university’s properties and to give the visitors basic amenities, free registration is being done. There are many people who come to the institution both during and after business hours for exercise or walk. It will be compulsory for them to register. This initiative has received a positive response from citizens,” said Dr Prafulla Pawar, Registrar, of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
