‘₹100 for 1 selfie’: Exhausted from constant photo requests in India, Russian woman devises a clever fix. Check it out.
In a strange viral video, a Russian woman filmed herself charging ₹100 to every Indian who wanted to take a selfie with her. She pointed out that it’s common for locals to ask foreigners for photos, and she found a clever way to deal with the constant requests.
The video starts with Instagram user @angelinali777 pretending to mimic locals asking her for pictures. “Ma’am please, one photo? One photo? We’re tired of these requests and I have a solution,” she says while holding up a sign that says “1 selfie ₹100.”

As she displays the sign on the beach, several Indian men gather around her to take pictures. They pose next to her while she continues to hold the sign. Many of the men are willing to pay for the selfie, and she proudly shows her earnings to the camera.
“And now we are all happy. Indians have their photo with a foreigner, and foreigners are not tired because they’re paid for selfie. How’s this solution?” she wrote in the caption for the video.
Indians have applauded her idea:
The video gained a lot of attention on social media, with many expressing surprise at the sight of people actually paying to take pictures with a stranger. One commenter remarked, “Wait, What! Foreigners are now charging Indians for taking selfies with them, and Indians are actually paying for it. We’re cooked.”
Another user noted, “Even if she charges 1K, there are insta crazy people who will pay and get a selfie without any hesitation.” Many admired the woman’s entrepreneurial spirit and congratulated her for finding a creative solution to her issue.
“This is a good idea. Why not? If people are so eager to get their selfies with them, it is a good money-making opportunity for them,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Good business practice, hopefully this will get this stupid behavior down!” One user humorously warned, “You will be taxed soon by our tax minister,” while another suggested, “Increase price. Charge them 1000. They are really clingy.”
