Saswad-Narayanpur-Kapurhol road work to complete by December end

Mumbai: Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan has announced that the incomplete National Highway (Saswad-Narayanpur-Kapurhol road connecting National Highway 962 to Pune-Bangalore National Highway ) in Pune district will soon be completed. The minister has stated that the work of 1200 meters of road will be finished before monsoon, and 4.5 km of road will be completed by December, 2023.

During the question and answer session in the assembly, Purandar constituency MLA Members Sanjay Jagtap, Chhagan Bhujbal, Chandrakant Bhingare, and Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar inquired about the status of the Saswad-Narayanpur-Kapurhol road connecting National Highway 962 to Pune-Bangalore National Highway in Pune district.

Minister Chavan informed the members that the work on the road had been delayed due to objections from local residents. However, with the increase in traffic on the road, the work of filling potholes had been completed immediately.

The first phase of the work will involve the completion of 1200 meters of road before the monsoon season, followed by the patchwork of 4.5 km of road by December through the Public Works Department. An additional budget of ₹ 25 crores will be required for this.

The minister also announced that the concreting work of 1200 meters length and 7 meters width had been approved in the budget of March 2023. The work will be taken up after completing the tender process.
