SBI's YONO App: Not Supported on Android 11 and Below – Here's Why.

The YONO app, created by the State Bank of India, has recently stated that it will stop supporting devices that operate on Android 11 and earlier versions. This announcement has caused concern among users who depend on the app for their banking needs.

The main reason for this change is the necessity for better security and performance. As technology advances, older operating systems may not provide the latest security updates and features that safeguard users’ financial data. By ceasing support for these outdated Android versions, YONO intends to improve the user experience and ensure that customers are using a platform that aligns with today’s security requirements.

Many users with older Android versions have reported issues with the YONO app and shared their experiences on the Play Store. One user wrote “I’ve used the YONO SBI app for years, but the latest update now supports only Android 12 or above. My phone runs on Android 10, and upgrading isn’t an option. This change makes the app inaccessible and unusable for me. It’s disappointing that loyal users with older devices are excluded without alternatives. I’m uninstalling the app as it no longer serves my needs. SBI should consider supporting older devices or offering a lighter version to ensure accessibility for all customers.”

Users who are still on Android 11 and below are urged to upgrade their devices to newer operating systems to keep using the YONO app without any disruptions.
