Shah Rukh Khan, who had openly admitted to smoking as many as 100 cigarettes a day, surprised his fans on his birthday by revealing that he has decided to quit smoking. During a meet-and-greet event held in honor of his birthday on Saturday, the actor, recognized for his candid discussions about his smoking habit, shared this exciting news with his admirers.
“Mujhe laga tha ki I will not feel so breathless, but abhi bhi feel kar raha hu (I thought I wouldn’t feel breathless after quitting smoking, but I still do)Inshallah, woh bhi theek ho jayega” (By God’s grace, that will also be fine),” said King Khan.
In 2012, the actor faced criticism for smoking in public at an IPL match featuring his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, against Rajasthan Royals. He ultimately received a minimal fine of ₹100 after admitting guilt in a Jaipur court.
During a media event in 2017, Shah Rukh expressed his intention to stop smoking and drinking for the benefit of his children, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
The actor is set to appear next in “King,” which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. His daughter Suhana will also be featured in the film.
