Days after securing a deal on Shark Tank India Season 3, Jammu and Kashmir-based startup Tramboo Sports, specializing in cricket bat manufacturing, is facing legal action.

The Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) has filed a lawsuit against Tramboo Sports and Sony Pictures Networks, the broadcaster of the show.

Lenskart CEO Peyush Bansal and boAt co-founder Aman Gupta had invested ₹30 lakh for a 4% equity stake in the startup during the episode aired on January 30.

The legal dispute arises from the CBMAK’s rejection of Tramboo Sports’ claim of being the sole manufacturer of Kashmir willow cricket bats.

The association members allege that the startup misled the public, causing significant harm to their businesses. Tramboo Sports is accused of tarnishing the image of the indigenous Kashmir willow cricket bat manufacturing industry.

The CBMAK has issued a legal notice demanding an on-air apology within 15 days and seeking compensation of ₹100 crore for the damages, loss, and mental agony endured by the association.
