Shefali Jariwala of ‘Kaanta Laga’ and Bigg Boss fame passes away at 42 in Mumbai
Actor-model Shefali Jariwala, best known for her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video Kaanta Laga and her stint on Bigg Boss 13, has died at the age of 42 following a cardiac arrest. According to reports, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Mumbai by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others late on Saturday night. However, she was declared brought dead on arrival.
A visibly distraught Parag Tyagi was seen by paparazzi as he left the hospital premises, partially covering his face. Videos shared online show Parag and other family members departing from the hospital, while later clips captured Mumbai Police and forensic teams arriving at Shefali’s home.
Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The news first surfaced through journalist Vickey Lalwani, who reported on social media that Shefali had passed away and was brought to the hospital already deceased. The hospital staff confirmed that she had expired before reaching the facility.

Shefali Jariwala rose to fame at the age of 20 with Kaanta Laga, a remix of the classic 1972 song from the film Samadhi. Over the years, she featured in various music videos and appeared in films. She also participated in dance reality shows like Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7 alongside her husband Parag Tyagi.
In 2018, Shefali starred as the female lead in the web series Baby Come Naa, opposite Shreyas Talpade. A year later, she joined the cast of Bigg Boss 13, where she further expanded her fan base.
