The incident took place at the S Square CNG Pump in Teen Hatti Chowk, causing widespread concern in the area. Details of the Accident
According to the police, the victim, Harshad Ganesh Gehlot, a resident of Shankar Maharaj Vasahat in Dhankawadi, was working at the CNG pump on Sunday evening. While refueling a two-wheeler, the nozzle unexpectedly detached and struck his face, causing severe injury to his left eye. Despite immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital, doctors confirmed that the damage to his eye was irreversible.
Although Harshad’s condition is now stable, the loss of his eye has left him facing significant challenges.
Case Filed Against Pump Owners
Following the incident, a complaint was registered at the Sahakar Nagar police station. The pump owners, Dhairyasheel Pansare and Rahit Harkurli, have been booked for negligence. Police constable Sandeep Chavan is leading the investigation. Authorities are probing whether safety protocols were followed during the refueling process.
