Pune: In a shocking incident, a case has been registered against senior students of Muktangan English School for harassing students of primary level.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Jayaram Paygude, Police Inspector, Parvati Police Station, said, “Students of grade 11 of Muktangan English School harassed a few students of grade 1 and grade 2. A case is registered against the students at the police station.”

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vikrant Amrale, President of Parvati Vidhan Sabha Constituency, MNS Party said, “The incident was notified by a student to some parents on October 4. On October 6, the parents interrogated the school regarding the incident but the school refuted the incident & did not respond to them. Hence, these parents approached us 4 to 5 days back after which we immediately went to the school & interrogated them. A case was filed against the students & we instructed everyone in the school to take utmost care at boys’ toilets & girls’ toilets, especially from the school workers like peons etc.”

As per further information shared by Amrale, the principal of Muktangan school has been suspended following the incident. Also, the MNS Party workers have requested to take strict action against the principal.

As per further information shared by Jayaram Paygude, a case has been registered at Parvati Police Station under relevant Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
