Pune, Oct 11 : Taking a firm stand against festive noise pollution, Catalyst Foundation will file a public interest litigation in a city court proposing a ban on use of DJ music and laser lights at family, religious and social functions in order to prevent damage caused to people by the two.


Shiv Sena joint co-publicity city chief Ajay Bhosale will also be a part of this PIL, said Sunil Mane, senior journalist and president of Catalyst Foundation, in a press release here on Wednesday.

Giving further details about this, he said that of late, the norm of organising DJ music and laser lights at social, religious and family events has started, as a result, many people suffer due to throbbing loud music and harming retina of eyes.

“That is why we are filing a public interest litigation in court through Catalyst Foundation for a permanent ban on DJ music and use of laser lights,” Mane added.
