Though the Pune Bandh was only till 3 pm, there was no business the whole day because the public did not come to shop.

On Tuesday, various organisations participated in the Pune bandh from morning till 3 pm.  All shops including food and fashion shops were closed and this has led to a heavy loss for the shopkeepers.

The Pune bandh was called for by the religious and shivpremis of the city and it was supported by major political parties, social organizations, Ganeshotsav mandals, religious organizations, professional and trade associations.   A strict closure of shops was observed in response.
Though the Pune Bandh was only till 3 pm, there was no business the whole day because the public did not come to shop.

Hotels in Karve nagar, Karve road, Deccan, JM road and FC road were open for takeaway.

A shopkeeper in Karve Nagar, on condition of anonymity said, “We choose to keep the shop closed till 3 pm but mornings are the time when the business picks up. We incurred huge losses that day.”  Some shopkeepers at Fashion stalls at FC road said they chose to stay at home and support the bandh, unmindful of the losses.

A section of the shopkeepers refused to talk probably out of fear.
