Sindhis in Pune demand statue of Sant Jhulelal
Sindhi community in Pune in a letter written to the Jagdish Mulik, Pune city, Bharatiya Janata party by Sindhi Cell Pune have demanded that a statue of Sant Jhulelal be installed in the city.
Shyam Thakur, president, BJP Pune Sindhi Cell said, “The entire Sindhi community fasts during the holy Shravan month. After the fasting period is over the devotees take a dip in the river and seen blessings of Sant Jhulelal. But since there is no such facility here, Sindhis from Pune city have to drive till Pimpri to complete the fast. We have written that there should be one memorial also in Pune where the religious programs can be held.”
