Exam pressure is so prevalent that all students tend to mug up their notes usually, one or two days before the exam and are sleep deprived causing them several health and mental issues.
Good sleep is one of the best stress busters, it is a great healer- can rejuvenate the body and the mind, a retreat where the mind can relax however, staying up late to cram for exams is a common practice. It can cause Alzheimer’s disease and can reduce life expectancy.
Therefore, it is recommended students prioritize sleep over cramming for academic success as well as overall well-being. In summary, having substantial sleep especially, before exams improves memory consolidation, and enhances attention, problem-solving, and critical thinking, which are essential for performing well on exams. Sleeping well can reduce stress and pressure, improve concentration and alertness, prevent fatigue, contribute to balancing emotional stability, and maintain a regular sleep schedule supporting a healthy circadian rhythm and fostering the overall functioning of an individual.
