Software Engineer Killed as Heated Residential Dispute Turns Deadly, CCTV Captures Harrowing Incident
Late in the night at Shiv Vatika Samriddhi Enclave in Indore’s Lasudiya, a heated argument between residents turned deadly when a speeding car struck a 42-year-old software engineer, Shampa Pandey. CCTV footage shows the accused allegedly driving recklessly through the gated community, hitting multiple people before fatally striking Pandey.
Police said the incident started over a minor dispute concerning the power supply in a penthouse unit on MR-11. The disagreement quickly escalated between the penthouse owner, Kuldeep Chaudhary, his son, and other residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the two men brought a vehicle into the community and attempted to flee at high speed, targeting residents in the process. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said, “An incident occurred within a township stemming from an altercation involving Kuldeep and his son. Following the dispute, the two men got into their vehicle and attempted to flee. As they sped away, they ran over a 42-year-old woman causing her death.”
He added that CCTV footage clearly captures the sequence of events, from the confrontation to the vehicle being used against residents. Police have registered a murder case, arrested both father and son, and seized the car.
The victim’s husband, Saurabh Pandey, also an IT professional, described the moments leading up to the tragedy: “Around 10 pm, our power went out, and when I went downstairs, there was a crowd gathered and an argument with the penthouse owner. Suddenly, his son arrived in a car and began verbally abusing residents. He then drove at 60–70 kmph inside the colony, hitting a maid first and then my wife.”

He alleged that the driver deliberately pinned his wife against a wall and ran over her, causing fatal head injuries. The couple had only recently moved into the apartment, just two weeks ago. Saurabh also mentioned prior tensions regarding the penthouse, which was allegedly being used for rentals and disturbing the community, and that residents had previously raised the matter with the builder.
Police are continuing investigations, relying on CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to determine whether the attack was premeditated or fueled by sudden rage. With both accused in custody, further legal proceedings are expected.
