SPPU Research Park Foundation signs MoU with Australian Institute of Water Sciences India

SPPU Research Park Foundation and Australian Institute of Water Sciences India Pvt. Ltd. ( AIWS India) signed an MOU today to assume leadership in the Indian environmental education space as well as provide a springboard for environmentally focused projects throughout the continent.  The initial focus of this MoU is to provide environmental and safety courses within a diverse range of industries that impact the Indian environment, particularly those industries that impact Indian water resources and waterways as well as solid waste disposal. 

Signing of MoU took place in presence of Hon. VC Prof. Nitin Karmalkar,  Dr. Arvind Shaligram CEO of SPPU Research Park Foundation, Chairman of Australian Institute of Water Sciences India Pvt. Ltd Philip Bell, Director Dr, Bhakta, Director from India Dattatray Deole, Girish Kale, Physics Dept’s Head Dr. Suresh Gosavi , SPPU’s Technology Dept.’s Head Dr. Aditya Abhyankar.  

“The SPPU Research Park Foundation has been set up with a view to commercialize the research of Savitribai Phule Pune University. The MoU signed today will enable various types of training for the manpower working for water pollution control.

Training programs will be conducted by SPPU Research Park Foundation to create a better workforce for water pollution control in the future. Moreover, the MoU has strengthened the friendly relations between India and Australia, ” said Prof. Nitin Karmalkar, Vice Chancellor,  Savitribai Phule Pune University.   “As an Indian skills education provider, AIWS India is honoured to be selected by SPPU – Research Park Foundation to join them in this vital role that will no doubt lead to a profound,positive  â€“  long-term impact on the Indian environment” â€“ Prof. Phillip Bell, CEO and Chairman, AIWS India. 

AIWS India will run long short term courses in collaboration with  SPPU Research Park Foundation aimed at much needed environmental skills training, using on-campus, online and in-situ arrangements while utilizing the services of experts to deliver the training.  Initially, the training will begin with two short courses to be delivered online in order to comply with COVID-19 directives. Australian Institute of Water Sciences India Pvt.
