Pune, July 10: A stray dog allegedly died after being electrocuted due to a current leakage from a roadside electric pole maintained by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), highlighting concerns over public safety.
According to the information shared, the incident occurred on Thursday night when electricity was reportedly leaking from a roadside electric pole. The electrocution claimed the life of a stray dog.
Social worker Nadeem Inamdar informed the concerned individual about the incident over the phone, following which the PMC’s concerned engineering department was contacted immediately. Officials responded promptly by dispatching a maintenance team to the spot.
The technical team repaired the fault overnight, preventing any further accidents or injuries to pedestrians, residents, or animals.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the maintenance of roadside electrical infrastructure, with citizens urging civic authorities to conduct regular inspections to prevent similar tragedies.
