Blockbuster release Stree 2 has achieved outstanding success at the box office and has now emerged as the most searched Indian film in 2024.
Stree 2, the eagerly awaited sequel, has reached remarkable heights, emerging as both a box office sensation and the most searched Indian film on Google in 2024. Renowned for its unique blend of horror and comedy, the film has enchanted both viewers and critics.
Nag Ashwin’s science fiction masterpiece, Kalki 2898 AD, is next on the list. The film included a prominent star cast such as Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.
The list also highlighted other significant films, such as the Malayalam hit Manjummel Boys, Kiran Rao’s social comedy Laapataa Ladies, the Netflix production Maharaja, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s unexpected success 12th Fail.
Additionally, Prabhas’ Salaar, Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time, and the Telugu superhero film Hanu-Man were included, while the Malayalam dramedy Aavesham, featuring Fahadh Faasil, rounded out the top ten.
On Tuesday, Google unveiled its annual Year in Search report, showcasing the search trends of individuals in India for 2024. The findings highlighted a rich tapestry of entertainment preferences, ranging from blockbuster films to historical narratives and independent music.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut series on OTT, Heeramandi, has successfully captured the top spot in search rankings. This historical drama, which includes prominent actors like Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Manisha Koirala, has outperformed others, with Ali Fazal’s Mirzapur and The Last of Us following closely behind.
The music category’s trending searches this year highlighted the growing popularity of independent music in India. Leading the list of most searched songs in 2024 was Akshath’s Nadaaniyan, closely followed by Anuv Jain’s Husn. The song Illuminati secured the third spot, while Katchi Sera ranked fourth.
The list indicated a strong presence of nostalgia, with songs such as Ye Tune Kya Kiya (5th) and Yeh Raaten Yeh Mausam (8th) making notable appearances.
