Swipe Left for JEE Ranks? IITian Turns Tinder Bio into a Resume, Internet Can't Stop Laughing
In an unexpected twist, a Tinder profile has gone viral for all the wrong reasons, drawing widespread attention and humor across social media platforms. The profile, shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) on August 7, stands out not for showcasing personal traits or interests, but for listing a series of academic accomplishments—turning what is usually a space for lighthearted introductions into a resume.
The Tinder user, who appears to be a graduate of IIT Bombay, detailed their academic journey with impressive credentials: top percentages in Class 10 and 12, ranks in JEE Mains and Advanced, NTSE and KVPY scholarships, and a B.Tech in Computer Science. To top it off, the individual also mentioned their employment at Infosys and included their height—an addition that only added to the profile’s peculiarity.

The unusual bio quickly gained traction online, with many users on social media reacting with a mix of amusement and disbelief. Comments flooded in, poking fun at the user’s apparent confusion between Tinder and LinkedIn. One user quipped, “Bros whole personality is academics,” while another joked, “If all this impressive history at a prestigious institute doesn’t impress you… here’s my height.” Others chimed in, suggesting the person might as well have included their salary package at Infosys.
The woman who originally shared the profile seemed to find the situation equally amusing, writing, “These IIT nerds should be banned from using dating sites. LinkedIn nahi Tinder hai yeh.” Her post, which highlighted the irony of using a dating app to showcase academic achievements, has since garnered over 390,000 views, with the numbers continuing to rise.
This viral moment is not an isolated case. Earlier this year, a woman’s Bumble profile gained attention after it humorously led to a job reference at JP Morgan. Such instances highlight how unconventional approaches on dating apps, whether intentional or not, can sometimes lead to unexpected fame rather than a romantic connection.
